Ariel atom makes you want to say oh my gawd

Ariel Atom Makes You Want To Say Oh My Gawd!Ariel Atom Makes You Want To Say Oh My Gawd! Jay Leno, America’s most popular car collector and host of the Tonight Show, received the very first Ariel Atom 2 produced in the U.S. This little demon is an F1-inspired racecar that anyone can own. The Ariel Atom, which was first developed in 2000, is for one and only one type of driver – an unadulterated fiend for speed, performance, and fun! An entire page of emboldened exclamation points falls short of describing the giddiness and excitement this two-seat racecar delivers to an adrenaline junkie. The magnitude of the acceleration from driving this car around a track might just pull the skin right off of a face! Brammo Motorsports is licensed to make the Atom Ariel 2 in the U.S. UK-based Ariel Motor Company produces the Atom abroad. The U.S. version deploys a General Motors’ Ecotec 2.0 L SC engine, while Ariel uses a Honda IVTEC. Both engines produce around 300 horsepower, which does sound somewhat laid back for an asphalt rocket of this nature. mOVING COMPANY hq However, with the Atom’s weight just a tad over 1,000 pounds, the vehicle’s weight to power ratio, 4.10 to 1, is comparable to the McLaren F1, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, and the Ferrari Enzo. It goes from zero to 60 mph faster than you can say “Porsche Carrera” (2.8 seconds). The Bugatti Veyron 16.4, which costs $1.34 million, does it in 2.5 seconds. The Atom’s price range is $35,000 to $75,000. The car’s chassis and body are one and the same. It has a tubular steel frame that houses two seats, four tires, two lights, a steering wheel, an engine, and, thankfully, an excellent set of brakes and safety belts. The perfect pitch of the engine is the Atom’s sound system. There is no roof, windshields, and doors. When it accelerates, the aerodynamics from its low, wide shape, nose cone, rear-positioned engine, and front/rear double-wishbone suspension pushes the car down into the road to improve its stability. Although the Atom is available in six colors, it is hard to call it a luxury toy. But since it is neither a street-legal vehicle nor an item available at Wal-Mart, it fits the bill. However, if purchased as a kit car and assembled correctly with all the extra goodies added on, it may be street legal in some states. But who cares? Driving this badass car on any road with restrictions or impositions would be outright perverse. Simon Saunders, who has designed both cars and motorcycles for some very prestigious manufacturers, is the designer of the Ariel Atom. He set out to create a vehicle that gave drivers the thrill of a motorcycle with the safety of a car. Check out the videos on the company’s Web site and see for yourself. Mr. Saunders is a bloody genius!

The purpose of the salvage car auction

The Purpose Of The Salvage Car AuctionSalvage car auctions are becoming big business in America today. In todays more ecologically considerate world where Reduce, Re-use, Recycle has become a catch phrase, recycling of salvage vehicles has become a major player in saving our ecology. The salvage car auction offers a great way for salvage yards to buy damaged vehicles for their recycling purposes. Thus the lawn chairs sitting on your patio, in another life, could have been your first car that you wrecked on prom night. What Is A Salvage Car Auction? So what is a salvage car auction? Basically most of the vehicles brought up for sale at a salvage car auction are from insurance claims. If the estimated cost MOVING COMPANY HQ of repairs to the vehicle is more than the value the insurance company assigns to it, then the vehicle is considered totaled and the insurance company buys the vehicle and salvages it. The interesting point to all this is that insurance companies then sell these cars at a salvage car auction and these cars can be bought very inexpensively. What makes this such a great deal is that, while most of the cars that come thru a salvage car auction are destroyed beyond repair, some vehicles with very minor damage are considered totaled due to the age of the vehicle or the expense of a particular repair. Many times a summer hailstorm near a new car lot will result in a huge loss for the insurance company and a large number of cars that are mechanically sound but suffer from cosmetic damages. What does this mean for you? What it means is that you can buy a new or nearly new vehicle for a very low investment at a salvage car auction so long as you can deal with the minor cosmetic flaws such as dinged paint or chipped windshields. So it is quite easy to see that salvage car auctions serve a purpose in our society and can make for some wonderful savings.

Do electric scooters really offer better alternative transportation

Do Electric Scooters Really Offer Better Alternative Transportation? There’s a lot of hype over electric scooters these last couple of years, but is it really a wise investment?Kids love them, but are they useful for adults looking to commute? Many commuters, including college students, love the ease and portability of electric scooters. It is without doubt that the electric scooter has become a more than viable form of alternative transportation, and its here to stay…This is because it is cheap to own, operate, and maintain an electric scooter. With gas prices rising, electricity is a much more inexpensive source of power. The only real drawback of owning an electric scooter is the speed that they typically reach, usually between 18-25 mph, which can be quite slow. However, if you’re only traveling within a 2 to 3 mile radius, then its the perfect solution. There are a variety of styles and brands on the market, but as in any industry, you have your share of bad quality rip-offs and real brand-names.Some of the better brand names include: Razor, Schwinn, X-treme, and Mongoose. The typical standard warranty is between 1-3 months, with a 6-month warranty on batteries. Batteries are re-chargeable, but the usual life is between 6-18 months, after which they need replacement. Its always wise to buy an extra battery for backup. You can choose from 100 watts to 600 watts, with the most popular models being around 400-500 watts. The higher the wattage, the more weight the scooter can push and the steeper hills it can handle.Hills are an important consideration when purchasing an electric scooter. If you’re planning to ride in a hilly area, then a gas-powered electric scooter is a better option, as long as its 49cc and under.Legally, electric scooters are very well-appreciated. Most states do not regulate electric scooters the same way moped and gas scooter are regulated, in order to encourage the use of renewable energy and reduce pollution. Moreover, accidents associated with electric scooters are usually much less than with gas-powered ones.Cost for the typical brand-name model is between $300 and $600, depending mainly on power output. Beware of buying on Ebay, because the scooter may not come with a warranty or availability of parts, two very important factors when considering a purchase. The bottom-line is that electric scooters offer a very viable form of alternative transportation, and anyone commuting within a 2-3 mile radius should consider having one.
